West End Urban Redevelopment Area Plan

Please take our ongoing survey on what the URA plan should prioritize in the West End neighborhood.

Urban Redevelopment Areas (URAs) give local governments additional tools to carry out community revitalization activities in distressed areas. This page contains important information related to URAs in the City, including dates for community input sessions, the boundaries of existing URAs, and plans for revitalization strategies in those areas such as the development of affordable housing, targeted code enforcement, and others.

Strategies pursued in URAs are guided by an Urban Redevelopment Plan, a public document submitted by the Redevelopment Commission and approved by the Planning Commission and City Council.

To date, the Redevelopment Commission is in the process of certifying a URA in the West End/Elmwood District neighborhood. At its first meeting on May 27, the commission reviewed current conditions and recent trends in the neighborhood. [Click here to review that presentation.]
