The City Attorney is one of three positions appointed by and serving at the pleasure of the City Council.  The City Attorney’s role is to advise the City Council, City Administration and staff relative to legal matters.  He advocates on the City’s behalf, from time-to-time and as appropriate, in local, State and Federal Courts, or administrative or regulatory agencies as requested by the City Council and/or in coordination with the City Manager or his staff. City contracts, procedures as they relate to due process, state laws as they relate to records and proceedings are of a particular interest to the City Attorney’s Office.

The City Attorney represents the City’s interests in working with citizens who raise concerns about the City’s actions. The City Attorney also enforces certain provisions of the Henderson City Code. The City Attorney cannot provide legal advice or representation to private citizens or businesses which would create any conflict of interest.
